- What is solution strength?
- Solution strength is the percent concentration of a dissolved solid chemistry product in its make-down solution (for example a 6% inhibitor solution). It tells you how much active product is in the feed solution so dosing pumps can be set correctly.
- Why use conductivity to measure solution strength?
- Dissolved water treatment chemistry raises a solution’s electrical conductivity in proportion to its concentration. By subtracting makeup water conductivity from solution conductivity and applying the product’s calibration constants, the calculator estimates percent strength without a lab titration.
- Why is the calibration product-specific?
- Each product has a unique conductivity-to-concentration relationship, so the calculator stores per-product calibration constants. Selecting the correct product is required for an accurate strength estimate.
